Teesha and Robin

Hey all, holy cow, time flies, has it really been over a week since I last blogged? I have been so busy working on album designs from all of my weddings this summer and enjoyed a couple days off for the holiday. I thought you guys perhaps wanted to see a little of what I've been up to, so I thought I would start with sharing this session that I shot today of Teesha and Robin. Teesha and I go way back. Her mom and my mom were best friends in high school and throughout their lives, so Teesha and I practically grew up together, she is like a sister to me. They have been wanting to get their pictures done for a while now, and we finally set up a time to get them done. It was a pretty quick session, lasted maybe 30-40 minutes, because one of the locations I wanted to shoot at was closed, but I think we done good with what we had to work with. Anyways, enough babbling from me, check em out and check back this week for more posts :)

Tawsha and Justin HAUT session in SLC

Some of you may recall Tawsha :) I met Tawsha in March of 2007 when we shot a trash the dress session in SLC. Not too long after that, Tawsha started doing wedding photography and is now owner of The Color Blue Photography right here in Utah. So when she talked about hiring me to do some photos with her husband Justin, I was a little nervous, I always get scared shooting other photographers, lol. Anyways, I am so glad I agreed to shoot for these guys because they could work the camera like no one's business. We had an absolute blast shooting and I hope they love these pictures as much as I do.

New Infrared Point and Shoot :)

So I just got a new toy in the mail today :) I have been wanting to try out Infrared photography for a long time and finally purchased an infrared converted point and shoot. I just love the look of infrared photography, it looks so ethereal and surreal. I can't wait to get up to the mountains by a lake to try it out. Soon I will upgrade it and purchase a digital SLR infrared converted camera, but for now this will do. It's an old Canon G1 point and shoot that is only 3.3 megapixels. I will be shooting some groomals/engagements tomorrow and will try out a couple IR shots at the SLC temple. Hopefully it's a nice clear day with big puffy clouds. Anyways, I just shot around the front yard and these were a couple of keepers that I got.

No, Try Not, Do or Do Not, There is No Try - Yoda

So it's been a couple days since I have posted a blog post, and I thought while you guys were waiting for my next photoshoot to be posted, I would share a little bit about myself and get to know a little bit more about you guys. So let's talk Star Wars. How many Star Wars fans are out there? and if you are a fan, which is your favorite character and why? Don't be shy to chime in, there is a little geek in all of us :P. My personal favorite Star Wars character is by far Yoda. Ever since I saw the Empire Strikes Back and Yoda came into the scene, I was hooked on that little green guy. Most of all, I was impressed by Yoda's wisdom and patience with that whiny little Luke. One of my favorite sayings by Yoda was "No, Try Not, Do or Do Not, There is No Try". Very humbling and I have to admit, there are times in my life where I feel like the little whiny Luke and I hear those words. So anyways, enough about my geekiness, who is your favorite character and why?

Second shooting with Rachael

So I recently got some new equipment that I wanted to test out and Rachael had a senior session that she let me tag along on. We shot in Bountiful and it was nice testing out my gear before one of my official shoots. Our senior was a little bit late, so I made Rachael pose for me. Anyways, here's a couple of my favorites from the day.
