Mini Session of our Offspring

So I decided I finally needed to set aside some time to take a few pictures of the kids. So we headed over to Layton Park for a really quick mini session. The last shot in this set is my absolute favorite :) I know you have never heard this one before, but aren't they the cutest kids in the world?!?! :P

D

I really hate doing this shot because I get so motion sick but I love the way it turns out every time. This was my personal favorite from the shoot.

Your oldest looks just like your lovely wife. Your 2nd has the biggest beautiful brown eyes and your son is just a doll!

I love the merry go round shot. You did it with my brother probably 3 years ago and I think it is so ingenious.

Haha, thanks Mrs Webster, yeah, your brother was the first person I tried it on and I think I did it a couple more times, and yesterday as I was walking past the merry go round, I remembered the shot with your brother and did it again. The last time I did it was probably 2 1/2 years ago, lol.

You're right, they are beautiful kids! Wonderful shots, too. Look waaaay more cooperative than my kids. I will have to try the merry go round one (and then go toss my cookies). That one is fantastic!

will you share your settings for that merry go round shot? Great blur in the background!

Kristen,

normally I use flash to freeze the motion and then drag my shutter to achieve the blur, but I didn't bring my flash to this session.

My settings were ISO 400, 1/30th @ f/4.5 and the trick is to be on the opposite end of the merry go round while it is spinning, that way your subject stays in focus and the background blurs.
